Hospital Development Coordinator (2 North Liberty and 1 Altoona)

  • Position Overview: Primary responsibility is to work within established Iowa Donor Network policies, procedures, and protocols to consult with assigned hospitals in the service area, specifically with key hospital decision makers. Assists hospitals in development of policies and procedures to promote organ/tissue donation. Educates nurses, physicians, and other hospital personnel working in key hospital units to increase organ and tissue donation. Effectively interacts and provides education to hospital staff about the donation process to heighten their knowledge and participation in the referral and donation process. In addition, monitors this process through evaluation of referral and donation patterns through hospital reports, death record reviews, hospital strategic plans, and after-action case reviews.

  • Job Qualifications: A degree in nursing, social work, paramedic certification, or health care field; or a degree in marketing, public relations or life science with one or more years of health care related experience. Ability to develop relationships with clients of diverse backgrounds in all areas of a healthcare organization. Ability to navigate through a fast-paced critical care hospital environment is essential to being successful in this role. Excellent communication skills required. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and to represent the organization professionally. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team required.
