Tissue Donation Timeline
The hospital initiates the tissue donation process at the time they notify Iowa Donor Network (IDN) of a death. Tissue recovery must occur within 24 hours of death and involves a lot of coordination between the hospital, medical examiner (if involved), the funeral home, and IDN.
